Each one of my paintings is a journey. I think of myself as a colorist, exploring and exaggerating color along the way. The rich colors of pastel allow me to express feelings and emotions, as well as to provoke the viewer's response to the journey.
Ever since my crayons melted together in the back of that hot car window when I was 5, I've been fascinated by color! Pastels awaken that same fascination. "Feeling" the color provides an immediate connection between medium and painting.
I explore location as well as conceptual or abstract space. The subtle and vibrant colors of pastel are pushed to the limit to evoke sensations and at the same time also convey a sense of space.
